My Girls are Stylish this Winter with Vertbaudet

Winter can be an expensive time as you have to kit the kids out - new coat, boots, hats, scarves and anything else that was lost last season and all this just after you have sorted the September school uniform and before Christmas comes along to empty your pockets. So I am always glad to find somewhere selling winter coats at reasonable prices, especially if they are high quality.

This year Vertbaudet, the online and mail order retailer got in touch with me and introduced me to their range of coats and to be honest I was blown away. I am used to shopping in the high street stores or supermarkets where you have a choice of about 4 coats and if there is not one your child likes well it is tough really, as they have to have something and you don't want to trail around for too long! No such problem with Vertbaudet as they have 57 coats for girls and 33 coats for boys aged between 2 - 14 years.

I let my girls pick their own coats and it just shows what I know as Miss M went for something totally different to what I would have imagined. She opted for a bright pink 3-in-1 Parka coat with an RRP of £39, which I thought was a good, fair price but then I see at the moment they have something called the Winter edit live and that gives up to 40% off and thus the coat is just £29.25 at the moment. That really is a bargain price as it is such fab quality and of course is 3-in-1 meaning there is a bodywarmer that can be worn alone or with the coat to give extra warmth.

This 3-in-1 parka is machine washable, has a showerproof treatment, elasticated cuffs to keep the cold out and a high warmth rating. It is available in five different colour ways and there are also reflective safety strips, so whatever the weather - come ran or shine it is perfect! Miss M has been enjoying wearing just the bodywarmer whilst it has been Autumn and now it feels like winter has hit the full coat has come out each day.

Have a look at the styling below. The fur around the hood is detachable in case it is not your thing, there are loads of zipped pockets and the inside is a really warm and cosy lining. We ordered an age 12 coat as Miss M always wears bigger than her age and I'd say this is true to size as it is slightly big for her and that suits me and her as it gives her lots of growing room and does not cling too much (which she hates).

Then Miss E who is the one that normally likes bright colouring went for a khaki green furry parka. The inside of this coat is divine and this is what first attracted Miss E to it as she loves snuggly fur and this is fully lined in this way. Again there is great styling with an easy pull star zipper, poppers over the zip to ensure a warm fit in the winter, 2 mock breast pockets and 2 nice big regular pockets.

The girls furry parka has an RRP of £39 but due to the 30% off it is just £27.30 currently on the website and I was interested to read that they kep their pricing consistent and this means you pay the same price whether your child is 2 or 14 years and thus as a Mum with older kids I do not get ripped off!

It is cools as well that there are buckles by the ribbed cuffs that allow Vertbaudet mittens to be attached, so they do not get lost. This coat is also machine washable and is available in three different colours.

I did have to size up on this coat (I think maybe due to the nice thick furry lining.) Miss E is only 8 but normally wears age 9 or 10 clothes, so originally I ordered her the age 10 coat and that is the one pictured above but you can see when she is sat on the bench, there is not really enough material to allow for a winter jumper and some growth room. So I swapped this for the age 12 coat and this fits wonderfully. Look at the images below (and the one of her jumping at the top) and that is the larger coat. She is really very happy now.

I'm sure you'll agree my little twinnies look fabulous in their Vertbaudet coats.

Disclosure: We were provided with these coats free of charge for the purpose of this review. I have not been instructed what to write and I remain honest.
