Beachside Fun in their Berghaus Coats #CountryKids

After a long morning at church followed by a meeting we were all ready to head out for some fresh air and family time. My favourite sleepy seaside town of Bexhill-on-Sea was the destination and the girls had chosen to take a scooter each. JJ hadn't and I think totally regretted it, he often forgets he is just 13 and not thirty, so he had to join my husband and I for a walk along the prom whilst the girls raced around and JJ bagged a scooter at intervals when the girls wanted to walk on the beach.

No winner was declared but they both had lots of fun and of course got in some great exercise. Even when it is overcast and a little rainy it is still important to get outdoors and enjoy family time.

The prom walk and scooting was followed by time in Egerton Park, which is a fab place for the kids with a sandpit, boating lake, exercise equipment, tennis and superb play park.

Then what better to round-off our afternoon out except some fresh chips from the chippie, eaten directly from the box steaming hot. They were yum!

You can see from the photos that the girls received a gorgeous Berghaus coat each from Blacks to celebrate the new Berghaus kids coats range launch in February this year. The great news is that the coats are available at a fabulous introductory price, so now is definitely the time to buy.

Navy Ancroft Parka
Miss E fancied the stylish navy Ancroft Parka, which normally retails for £80 but is available now for £65. You can feel the quality when you take this coat out of the bag and Miss E was very taken with the super-soft quilted lining and soft, soft fur hood inner. The detachable fur around the collar is really nice too and it easily attaches and detached by the use of poppers which are hidden within two pieces of fabric, so even when the coat is worn without it, it still looks perfect and not like it is missing something.

The coat is fully waterproof with an insulated layer that is made for countering cold and wet conditions with ease. The AQ2™ fabric shields from all moisture, from drizzle to downpours, whilst a lightweight synthetic insulation and quilted interior help generate and seal in heat.

Of course there are all the features you'd expect in a hardy winter coat too, like knitted storm cuffs, located inside the sleeve to block out cold, an adjustable hood to ensure it doesn't fall down and bellowed front pockets - with side entry.

This coat is available in age 3-4 years through to 13 years. I would say it comes up slightly small, maybe due to the classic parka design, which means it is a slim fitting coat. I had to go for an age 13 coat to allow a little growing room. Miss E is only 9 but does normally wear about age 11 years clothes.

Carrock 3 in 1 Jacket
Miss M went for the super practical Carrock 3 in 1 Jacket, which has a detachable fleece inside, meaning that the coat can be worn right throughout the year in both wet and dry weather. This normally retails for £70 but again there is a good deal at the moment and you can buy it for £55.

The AQ2™ fabric exterior (with taped seams) totally shields from the toughest downpours, whilst the removable interior fleece provides lightweight warmth, backed by a brushed finish for increased comfort. The reflective accenting and piping ensures extra visibility and increased safety in darker and dimmer conditions.

There is an adjustable hood to make sure the fit is perfect and it can be rolled away and not seen at all and there are elasticated cuffs as you'd expect to keep the warmth in.

Again this coat is available in age 3-4 years through to 13 years and I'd say this one is true to size as it fits Miss M and she does wear about age 13 clothes.

Another thing to mention is that Berghaus coats are made to be durable and they expect them to last. As such they are protected by a lifetime guarantee - that is the length of time it can reasonably be expected to keep delivering the same great performance as when it was new.

Shopping with Blacks
I received the coats in good time, they were well packaged and I even had to return one for a swap to a larger size. The service I received was good and I'd definitely shop with Blacks online again. There is an excellent range of kids clothing for both boys and girls and they have a fantastic price match guarantee, where if you see the same product elsewhere for cheaper they will sell it to you for 10% cheaper.

I see that postage is £3.99 for orders under £70 and free for orders above that amount or you can choose to pay £5.99 for next day delivery if you order before 6pm. You can also click and collect from store but this attracts a charge of £1 for low value items or is free for over £70.

I'm linking this post up with Fiona at Coombe Mill for #CountryKids.

Disclosure: We received both coats free of charge for the purpose of this review. I have not been instructed what to write and I remain honest.
