Women's Plus Size Fashion made Easy with JD Williams

I hadn't heard of JD Williams until they got in touch with me and then all of a sudden I'm seeing their adverts everywhere and I have to admit that I am so glad I now know about them. As a larger lady I don't always find it easy to buy clothes that look good and suit me. I go into shops like New Look that do a plus size range but they are all trendy cut-away styles that would suit someone in their early twenties and then I look in M&S and I might see a few things I like but I can never find the larger sizes.

A Massive Range
Well now my problem is solved as JD Williams have the biggest range of clothes that I think I've ever seen and all available in my size. Their range is available from U.K. Size 12 to 32 and they are constantly making changes to ensure there is always the latest styles and something to suit everyone. As well as ladies fashions there is also fashion for men (again catering for the larger sizes), kids, homes and electrical goods.

When I first had a look round the JD Williams website I was a little overwhelmed with the choice but once you use the search filters to make sure you only see the items that fit your criteria you are left with a good selection of items that you could purchase. I was really pleased to see there is a whole range of price points too, some of the items are a complete bargain and it is definitely worth looking at their Outlet area on the site as there are dresses from £6, tops with up to 60% off and boots with up to 70% off, there is certainly something to be said for buying your boots off season!

Gorgeous Sandals
The regular priced clothes are good value too, I ordered a few items to try out and was really pleased with the quality and price. I ordered myself a pair of patent black sandals for £30, perfect for the summer nights or for a party in the cooler months and this is the first time I've worn heels in quite a few years due to some issues with my feet so I was apprehensive as to how they would fit.

Imagine my surprise when they slipped on my wide feet straight away and I was pain free. I've worn them quite a few times so far and I feel really pretty in them, which is a massive step forward for me as I've grown used to having to wear flat sandals in recent years. The ultimate comfort 3 layer padding insole is probably what makes the shoes so comfy and being an E fitting they are naturally wide and I hardly feel the 59 mm heel. These sandals are available in nude and black and available in sizes 4-8. Sadly there are not half sizes in this style but on the basis of these sandals I'd defiantly buy Heavenly Sole shoes from JD Williams again.

Stunning Summer Separates
At first I also ordered a Together maxi dress in a size 24 and found it was a bit big for me, which isn't surprising as I go between a 22 and 24 and had decided to err on the cautious side. The dress was very pretty and a nice heavy fabric so it draped well but I decided to send it back due to being a bit big and I felt huge in it. The maxi dress was £65 and I think worth that money but there is also a big selection and plenty that are cheaper, from around £25 upwards.

Instead of the dress I decided to go for separates as they often suit my apple shaped figure better. The skirt I went for can be worn for work and I thought it was time I had a nice new piece of work wear but it also worked well on holiday in Spain for an evening out. The Nightingales print ivy skirt is £35 and I got it in length 27" but it is also available in 32" if you like a longer fit. It is available in sizes 10 - 28 and I ordered it in a size 22. I feel it is true to size with an elasticated waist and hangs really well on me. The soft and flowing material is flattering and it has great movement.

I teamed this floral skirt with a navy Joanna Hope lace shell top and I thought this was was an absolute bargain at £29 as these lace covered tops often cost far more than that. It is really beautiful with a satin under top and thick corded lace overtop that feels durable, as if it won't snag easily. It is also available in black or oyster and comes in sizes 10-32.

I also ordered this is a size 22 and if I'm honest I probably could have gone a size larger due to my tummy area but I was quite happy with it being a little snug as I'm losing some weight right now. It's worth mentioning that it isn't the longest top at 23" and I see some of the people who have reviewed it on the JD Williams website say to go a size up, I think this might be an idea.

Delivery and Returns
The charge for standard delivery is £3.50 and there are various other options that you can pay for to ensure you receive your goods extra quickly or on a nominated day. You can use Hermes for free if your order is over £40. The two deliveries I had were both very quick and the items were well packaged in a mailing sack and folded with tissue paper within individual bags to minimise creasing. Regular delivery takes 3-5 days.

If you find that any of the items do not fit or suit you, you can return them within 14 days for a full refund. There are various ways to return items including through the courier that delivered them to you and via the post office.

Personal Shopping Account
JD Williams offer the facility to have a shopping account with them and you can choose to spread the cost of your purchases if you need to. Remembering of course there will be an interest charge for doing this (representative 39.9% APR) or if you pay in full then there is no interest. You'll also find that you get many special offers and previews by having a personal shopping account.

Conclusion
I really like the JD Williams site and I'll definitely be ordering with them again. It is worth joining their mailing list as I've already been sent details about items being on sale. I also noticed that as a new customer you can secure 20% of your first order (subject to some T&Cs), so why not treat yourself to a nice new outfit for the summer months?

Disclosure: I received the items free of charge and a fee for conducting this review. I have not been instructed what to write and I remain honest.
