After a year of staying indoors and lockdowns, we are all craving some sun and a fun excursion. A relaxing holiday to an exotic location can help to relieve the anxiety and stress caused by the pandemic and will be a really welcome release for most people.

If you are planning a getaway abroad, here are three destinations worth considering -

1. Blue Lagoon, Iceland

Experience ultimate relaxation soaking in the geothermally heated water surrounded by breathtaking views of the Icelandic landscape. The Blue Lagoon is an artificial spa that utilizes water from the surrounding geothermal plant. The water is warm all-year-round making it perfect for soaking in even in extreme temperatures. Besides, the minerals and silica boost its healing properties, making it perfect for rejuvenating your skin and relaxing your mind.

The ideal time to vacation at the Blue lagoon is during winter if you want your skin to reap the benefits of both warm and cold temperatures. Apart from swimming in the spa, you can enjoy a drink in the swim-up bars. You can also enjoy premium services like facemasks and other treatments from the in-water mask bar at Blue Lagoon. The silica and algae masks have numerous health benefits for your skin, reducing signs of ageing and nourishing your skin.

2. Bordeaux, France

Even if you are not into drinking some good wine, you will find plenty of relaxing activities to do in Bordeaux. The beautiful city has not lost its French charm despite the modern architectural buildings; it still maintains its rich history. You can begin your excursions at the city centre, marvelling at the bell tower at Saint Michel Basilica or the gothic designs of the Saint Andres Cathedral. Both buildings are major historical sites in the city dating back to the Roman Empire.

After spending the morning learning about the history of this beautiful city, you could spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying scenic views in the beautiful parks available in the city. For instance, the Place des Quinconces and Parc Bordelaise provide beautiful green spaces for an evening stroll. You can also visit the vineyards and many chateaux during the harvest season to enjoy the sights and beautiful aroma of grapes. Not to mention the taste as well!

3. Cinque Terre, Italy

Cinque Terre is a famous Italian coastal landscape that stretches across five villages through the Italian Riviera coastline in Liguria. Each village is bursting with activities and provides scenic views and sandy coastlines for relaxation. If you love hiking, you can follow the Cinque Trail through the five regions. Walking allows you to enjoy scenic views and appreciate the beautiful landscape. However, the trails can be challenging if you aren’t used to hiking.

Do not forget to visit the Santuario di Nostra Signora di Montenero viewpoint to marvel at the beauty of Cinque Terre. Apart from enjoying the sun during the day, you should find the best spots for watching the sunset. As the sun sets, it casts a gorgeous orange glow over the towns creating a stunning view.

Have you ever been to the above destinations before? If not, you could try out one of these destinations for your next vacation. Irrespective of where you visit first, you are guaranteed to have fun and relaxation.
