Reasons to be Cheerful - Volunteering, Panto and Looking Ahead

Happy Thursday friends, I hope you are well today. I’m good, just having a busy week but some of the things that make up that busyness add into my reasons to be cheerful this week –

Volunteering
This week I have worked a couple of shifts in reception/ group bookings at the conference centre where I live as some staff are away at a conference and I’ve been reminded just how much I enjoy working there. I hope I can help out more often.

I’ve also taken a team to the food bank warehouse last Sunday and we had a super productive couple of hours sorting stock and getting things ship-shape. Then today, perhaps as you are reading this I’m at school coaching the little boy I see each week and tomorrow it is food bank again but this time meeting our customers and giving out the food and a cuppa. Saturday I’m off to the Snowflake night shelter to help cook/ serve breakfast and pack up the temporary shelter for the day. I love the variety of roles that I get involved with and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to be able to help so many people.

Time for panto (Oh no, it’s not!)
Miss M choose to use the last of her Christmas money to buy herself a ticket to see the panto Saturday night so obviously I had to buy myself one too and join her. It will be fab to have an evening out just the two of us and enjoy the show and a bit to eat together. I only pray I stay awake after my super early start at the night shelter the same day.

So much to look forward to in 2017
I went through my diary the other day and I was amazed at just how many wonderful things I have happening in the next year. Next weekend my husband and I have a night’s stay in London and a trip to the theatre to see Wicked and then I’ve made use of the early booking deals for Premier Inn and booked up a few stays across the year so we can visit family and we also have some wonderful family holidays to look forward to. Spring Harvest at Butlins Minehead in early April, Eurocamp in Cambrils, Spain in late May, Bournemouth with my folks in July and a packed August at home with all sorts of groups having hired he conference centre and bringing church groups here that we can join in with. It is a bumper year ahead and I feel very lucky. I now just need some paid work to come in so we can afford it all!

Fancy joining in?
That's it for this week, 3 short and sharp reasons to be cheerful and that was the basis of this linky when it started way back in January 2011. Everyone can join in, as when we dig deep there is always something to be thankful for and to give you even a hint of a smile! I'd love to read your Reasons to be Cheerful and it is as easy as 1, 2, 3 to join in -

1. Link up a post about something that is making you super happy/ grateful. It can be in this style or it can be anything you like - a recipe, a tutorial, a from the heart, a list - it's your blog, you choose

2. Add the #R2BC badge onto your post or blog so that people can easily find the linky and join in too if they fancy

3.  Share the love. This is the really important bit. Please don't just link and run, comment on at least a couple of posts and share with #R2BC

I'll stop by all linked up posts to comment and I'll share on twitter and Pinterest

Wishing you an amazing week ahead. Be blessed, Mich x
