It's been another busy week for me and it doesn't look as if the next few weeks are going to be any different. There seems to be so much to fit in at the moment, which is a bit frustrating as I'd quite like to chill and take some time before the kids break up for six weeks, but c'est la vie, what will be, will be!
Viva La France
Last Thursday morning I headed off to London to meat my Mum and brother so we could catch the Eurostar over to Paris for a few days. It was incredibly hot and we had issues with seats, queues and delays on the Eurostar but in general we managed to have a great few days celebrating my Mums 70th birthday. We packed loads in our days and I particularity loved going up the Eiffel Tower, taking a river cruise, riding the open top bus and seeing some awesome works of art at the Musee d'Orsay. Our apartment in Bercy Village was stunning too.
School Success
Last Wednesday and Thursday were the girls transition days for secondary school and they both said they had a good time. They did their CAT tests, did some team building, experienced lessons and generally got a feel for a school with about 2100 more pupils than their primary school!
Then on Tuesday they came home with their end of year reports and their SATs score and they both did really well. I was so pleased for them, especially Miss E who has defied all the odds with her dyslexia and managed to achieve on target for her English and reading work.
Welcome Party
We've had (or still got) 24 new volunteers arriving to spend the summer with us at the massive conference centre where we live. Each time we have a new catch arrive we have a welcome party and the theme of this one was the Circus. Well my hubby went all out and he dressed as a ringmaster. The girls also dressed up as circus performers. Looks how cool they all looked and in case you're wondering where I am, this was when I was in France and JJ, well he's a 14 year old boy. So he stayed home!
I hope you've been having a fab week too. Have an amazing weekend, Mich x
